1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DoWeDontWe ("the app", "the service"), operated by Optional Salad ("we", "us", "our"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
We are in the process of incorporating as a limited company in the United Kingdom. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use DoWeDontWe. By using the app, you confirm that you are 16 or older. If we discover that a user is under 16, we will delete their account immediately.
3. Your account
DoWeDontWe uses anonymous authentication — you do not need an email address or password to create an account. A unique anonymous ID is generated automatically when you first open the app.
You are responsible for:
- Any activity that occurs under your account
- Keeping your device secure
- Any content you add to the app
Your account is currently tied to the device you use. If you uninstall the app or clear your data, you may lose access to your account. Cross-device account linking is a planned future feature.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use DoWeDontWe to:
- Post or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or offensive
- Share links to illegal content, malware, phishing sites, or material that infringes third-party intellectual property
- Harass, intimidate, or harm other users
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the app or its infrastructure
- Use the app for commercial spam or unsolicited advertising
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Circumvent the age gate or assist others under 16 in accessing the app
We reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice.
5. Content you add
Your content
Links, display names, and other content you add to the app ("Your Content") remain your responsibility. You retain any intellectual property rights you hold in Your Content.
By adding content to the app, you grant Optional Salad a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the service.
Shared rooms
Content you add to a shared room is visible to all members of that room. If you leave or are removed from a room, your contributions may remain visible to other members.
Links and affiliate revenue
DoWeDontWe may modify outbound links to include affiliate tracking parameters. This allows us to earn a small commission when users make purchases via links in the app, at no cost to you. The destination and content of the link are never changed.
6. Third-party content and links
The app allows users to add links to third-party websites. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for any third-party content. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk.
7. Availability
We aim to keep DoWeDontWe available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We are not liable for any loss caused by downtime.
8. Intellectual property
The DoWeDontWe app, including its design, branding, code, and the DoWeDontWe and Optional Salad names and logos, are owned by Optional Salad. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without our written permission.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Optional Salad disclaims all warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Optional Salad shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to DoWeDontWe at any time, with or without cause, and without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.
You may stop using the app at any time. You can delete your account via Settings → Delete account.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, displaying a notice in the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer based in the EU, you may also have the right to refer disputes to your local courts under applicable EU consumer protection law.
