1. About these terms
These terms apply when you use DoWeDontWe ("the app"), made by Optional Salad ("we", "us"). Optional Salad is being incorporated as a limited company in England and Wales; our company details will be added here as soon as it's registered. By using the app you agree to these terms. If you got the app from the App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply to your download and any purchases.
2. Who can use DoWeDontWe
You must be 16 or older. If we learn someone under 16 is using the app, we'll close their account.
3. Your account
When you first open the app we create an account for you without needing an email address. If you don't sign in with Google (or Apple, when available), your account lives on that device and you'll lose it if you remove the app — signing in keeps your rooms safe and lets you use them on another device. You're responsible for what happens on your account and for what you add.
4. What you can't do — zero tolerance
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not share, or link to, anything illegal, or anything that:
- sexually exploits or abuses children, or sexualises anyone under 18;
- is a sexual or intimate image of someone shared without their consent, or is pornographic;
- threatens, harasses, bullies or abuses someone, or attacks people for who they are;
- encourages suicide, self-harm or eating disorders;
- promotes terrorism or violence;
- is a scam, malware or phishing, or tries to get money or personal details by deceiving people;
- infringes someone else's copyright or other rights.
You also must not impersonate others, spam, try to break or reverse-engineer the app, get around the age check, or help someone under 16 use the app.
5. Reporting, blocking and moderation
- Report any member, item or comment from inside the app, or email support@optionalsalad.com. Reports go to the room's admins and to our moderation team, who aim to review them within 48 hours.
- Block anyone from the room's member list; you won't see their comments or activity.
- We may remove content, remove someone from a room, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Content involving child sexual abuse is reported to the National Crime Agency.
- If we act on your content or account and you think we got it wrong, email us within 30 days and someone who wasn't involved will look again.
6. Your content
What you add stays yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the members of the rooms you add it to, only to run the app. Content in a shared room is visible to its members and may stay there if you leave.
7. Links, prices and affiliate links
Item details (titles, prices, pictures) are fetched automatically from the websites you link to and may be wrong or out of date — always check on the website before buying. Some shopping links include an affiliate code, so we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We don't control other websites and aren't responsible for them.
8. Maps and directions
Maps and directions are for planning only and may be inaccurate or out of date. Don't use DoWeDontWe while driving, and always follow road signs and local laws. If you open a route in another app (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze), that app's terms apply.
9. Paid features
If we offer paid features, they're bought through the App Store or Google Play and prices are shown before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your App Store or Google Play settings, at least 24 hours before renewal. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. Your legal rights as a consumer aren't affected.
10. Our app
The app, its design and the DoWeDontWe and Optional Salad names and logos belong to us. We aim to keep the app running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may change or remove features.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we're not liable for losses that weren't foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions you make using the app.
12. Ending your use
You can stop any time and delete your account in Settings → Delete account (or see how to delete without the app). We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
13. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also use your local courts and keep your local consumer rights.
